Monday, December 9th - Tuesday, December 10th
1. Reminder that students need to select a poem/performance piece to perform for the class next Wednesday.
2. Students submitted their quotes assignment for marks.
3. Students were given their quotes back and in their lit circle groups they had to cut out all of the quotes they chose and then they divided them into four categories depending on what they dealt with (Symbolism, Character, Theme, Conflict.)
4. Once separated, students were taken through the process for creating a good essay question (see handouts below).
5. Students then made up their own essay questions that Mr. Fitton collected.
6. Mr. Fitton reviewed the essay questions and selected ones that were polished and in depth enough for a grade 12 student.
7. Mr. Fitton posted the questions on his door at lunch time and thereafter so students could prepare tonight for their in-class essay on Wednesday.
8. Students will get a photocopied version of their group work on the quote (separating them) to refer to during the in-class essay.
