Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Lend Me Your Ears.
Welcome to English 12! Congratulations on making it to your grad year. English 12 is the only Mandatory course needed for retirement and is one of the most important courses of the year! Unlike some other courses where you may use the material periodically throughout your life, English is a course that will serve you every day for the rest of your life. Whether it is critical thinking, writing, communicating or reading, you will use the knowledge and skills gained in this course throughout every day of your life.
The focus this year is on sharpening your reading, writing and critical thinking skills. We plan to do so through exciting activities and engaging materials!
Please run your cursor over the tabs above to see the lessons, assignments and activities that we will do throughout the year!

Tuesday, Sept 3rd - Class started with an introduction to Mr. Fitton and the Rules of the course. We went over the following
expectations:
The Rules:
1.Be on
Time.
2.Be Prepared.
3.No cellphone/texting/listening to
music during the lesson (music acceptable when working on assignments if it
does not bother others.)
4.Respect others.
Personal Rules for Success:
1.Care about your work and yourself
2.Try. Just try. But put effort into everything you do. If it’s not worth handing in, why hand it in.
3.Delay gratification. Learning will provide you with more skills than watching TV or Playing PS3
4.Keep me in the loop – if you are having a bad day or need a minute, let me know. Communicate with your teachers.
Then we watched a video
on the benefits of delayed gratification
