Welcome to our Lit Circle Unit!
This is a unit drive by your own passion for reading. Mr. Fitton will provide many novels for study. Variety and options are the spice of life (excuse the cliched statement)
You will choose a novel that you will read with a group of 3-5 other students. We will do a variety of lit circle roles, projects and blogs that relate to your novel. This will be a chance to explore your own learning and come to a greater understanding of a novel on your own. As opposed to a traditional teacher-led class novel you are being empowered to control your own learning. This is how most of your education will be after school. Enjoy this exciting unit!

Post novel reflection: We had a campfire and sharing circle where we had to respond to the following question "How will you think or act differently now that you've read this book" - this ties in with our initial video clip from Barrack Obama who mentioned the concept of the "Empathy Deficit"
