4. Mask Activity. Christel Mitchell walked us through a powerful activity. Students can use paint or any other supplies to draw on the inside of their mask their internal feelings, emotions, or the landscape of their inner thoughts. She prompted them quietly throughout this powerful activity (wherein students were so quiet and engaged) about what colour represent etc.
Then students drew what they project to the world on the outside of their masks.
5. We then did a reflection on why the two are different. We will then do a journal entry reflecting on the entirety of the situation. Below are students with their products.

Hook Intro to Emotions
1. We will download (if a student wants to) the app "How we feel" - it gives a daily check in for emotions and feelings. Choose from a huge list. Helps gather data. Can connect and share with others too.
We will watch the film "Inside Out" to learn about the complexity of emotions. We will complete one of the two assignments below. Show students the options and then complete one. One is a four corners debate activity, the other is a response assignment with a variety of options.

EmotionsThere's a fair amount of research around the fact that when we can name something, we instantly feel better. However, most people cannot name a great number of emotions.
1. First - as a class, try to write down as many emotions as you can. Then Group them. 2. Review this list of emotions as a class. Below is a concrete tool to use. Mr. Fitton will provide you with a copy. Thanks to Kevin Lefebvre for Providing.
